Meghan Markle's Neat Handwriting Explained
It turns out the Duchess of Sussex spent a lot of time perfecting her lettering.

“It was because I went to an all-girls Catholic school for like six years during the time when kids actually had handwriting class,” she told Esquire in 2013.

“I’ve always had a propensity for getting the cursive down pretty well.”

That’s not all, though. Long before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan was trying to make a living while waiting for her big break in Hollywood as an actress. That’s when her calligraphy skills came in handy.

“What it evolved into was my pseudo-waitressing job when I was auditioning. I didn’t wait tables. I did calligraphy for the invitations for, like, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s wedding,” she explained.

She added that she also did Dolce & Gabbana’s celebrity correspondence in addition to other events, and it was “super lucrative” since so few people have calligraphy skills.

Luckily, Meghan, who was promoting “Suits” at the time, gave some tips for those who want to improve their handwriting.

“I guess the number-one thing is you have to take your time. Just do fluid strokes, you don’t have to have a fancy pen by any means. And here’s the other thing, you have to write in a way that’s authentic to you,” she explained.

It looks like Markle had fun putting her calligraphy skills to use on Tuesday the Royal Variety Charity’s residential nursing and care home, Brinsworth House. She made a small paper ornament that said “Merry Christmas” with “Love, Meghan” at the bottom.
