Messi 'Chooses' New Club
Lionel Messi has now reportedly decided who his new team will be.

According to Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has decided to take his talents to Major League Soccer and sign with Inter Miami.

This comes after months of speculation as to where the diminutive attacker would go after his two-year stint at Paris Saint-Germain came to an end. It seemed as though Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal were in pole position to land the Rosario native by luring him with what was believed to be a €600 million (R12.2 billion) a season contract.

It was set to be the biggest contract in football history and while he would have been the highest-earning athlete in the world, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner has opted against it and instead has reportedly chosen to join David Beckham co-owned Inter Miami.

The American outfit has made it known on multiple occasions throughout 2023 of their intent to try to sign the 35-year-old, but while moves to Barcelona and Riyadh were being mooted, it seems the Argentina international prefers making his way to the coastal city.

Inter Miami are believed to be offering the football icon a percentage of the money the club makes from sponsorships, as a consequence of his arrival. Rumours of a partial ownership stake being offered have also been floated, but while the final details of his contract are being finalised, the whole world will be waiting for Beckham and the Mas brothers to officially unveil Messi as the MLS' newest big name.
