Most Jobseekers Now Willing to Work for Smaller Firms

Eight out of 10 jobseekers are actually ready to work for smaller businesses despite an ingrained desire for big conglomerates, a straw poll suggests.
Employment portal Task Korea polled 1,214 jobseekers recently and 78.3 percent said they might throw snobbery overboard and take a 1st job in a tiny or medium-sized companies.
Possibly among university graduates the proportion was 74 percent, in comparison to 90.3 percent of vocational college or university graduates.
"More Jobseekers seem to be to be embracing smaller firms as the work market gets also tougher amid the coronavirus epidemic," said Byun Ji-sung at Job Korea.
Asked why, 47.6 percent said it seems much easier to get hired. But 40.7 percent said they do not care about how big is businesses given that they can conduct the job they would like to do.
Respondents were permitted to give multiple answers.
But the lower salaries were the largest objection to smaller employers. Among those who simply refuse to work for smaller organizations, 56.3 percent cited the low salary as the key reason, while 45.6 percent worried the huge benefits might not be good, accompanied by unfavorable working conditions (37.6 percent) and lower task security (36.5 percent).
