NDRC to prepare for the 14th Five-Year Plan

The National Development and Reform Commission recently held a symposium in Beijing on preparations for the 14th Five-Year Plan, which is the blueprint for development from 2021 to 2025, The Paper reported.
The meeting also evaluated the implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan and discussed the main development theme, tasks and major issues that need to be highlighted from 2021 to 2025.
China began to develop the first “five-year plan” in 1953. And it is currently in the middle of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016 – 2020), which has proposed an annual average economic growth rate of more than 6.5%.
One of the main responsibilities of the NDRC is to formulate and organize the implementation of national economic and social development strategies, including medium and long-term plans as well annual plans.
