New Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has revealed which player he has told can leave the Turin club.
The 41-year-old coach had his first press conference since Juve's return to training on Monday, and spoke in regards to a variety of topics.
Pirlo, who took over from the sacked Maurizio Sarri, confirmed that he spoke with Gonzalo Higuain and together with the player decided that it's best that both parties part ways.
"I've spoken to Gonzalo. He's a world-class player but we've decided it's time for us to go our separate ways," he said, as quoted by The Athletic journalist James Horncastle.
"All things come to a finish. We looked the other person in the eyes and decided this is your choice to take."
Higuain joined Juventus from Napoli for a charge of €90 million (R1.78 billion) in 2016, but will now reportedly have his contract terminated by the Italian giants.
"El Pipita" scored 66 goals and assisted another 16 strikes in 149 appearances for the Bianconeri.
