New Top-Range iPhone Priced at Nearly W2 Million
Apple's latest premium iPhone XS Max with 6.5-inch OLED screen comes here with a price tag at nearly W2 million for the 512GB model even as global reviews suggest the cheaper version is nearly as good (US$1=W1,138).

That beats even the W1.56 million record set by the 256GB iPhone X released last year.

Even the smallest 64GB iPhone XS Max costs a whopping W1.52 million, and the largest at 256GB costs W1.72 million. For the XS with a 5.8-inch OLED screen, the 512GB model costs W1.82 million.

But Apple's more affordable XR models are priced from W990,000 (64GB) to W1.19 million (256GB), around the same range as Samsung's premium lineup.

Early reviews suggest users miss out on very little except the OLED screen if they plumb for the cheaper series, and with a 6.1-inch screen the iPhone XR is a little smaller.

Between Friday and Nov. 1, Apple will take pre-orders for the iPhone XS and XS Max through the three major mobile carriers -- SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus. The official launch is slated for Nov. 2.
