New Year’s Eve 2020: Abu Dhabi expectations to set records with 35-minute fireworks display

The UAE is no stranger to hosting incredible, record-breaking fireworks on New Year’s Eve, and an upcoming screen in Abu Dhabi is vying to uphold that tradition.
Organisers behind Sheikh Zayed Festival have announced the function will host a fireworks display that spans a lot more than 35 moments, so that they can break two Guinness Community Records on Thursday, December 31.
The display will include the “world’s first-ever Girandola fireworks show”, according to a tweet shared by the festival. Girandola is the Italian expression for pinwheel, hence spectators can get a spinning, sparkling screen.
The Guinness World Record that the organisers are looking to set is for the most significant straight-line fireworks display.
Besides the fireworks, you will have particular fountain and laser shows, performances by native and international bands, and children's actions spending at the Sheikh Zayed Event to mark the finish of 2020.
Gates open at 2pm however the fireworks display will begin at midnight.
