Venue: Estádio Nacional de Brasilia

Alisson Becker, Renan Lodi and Lucas Paqueta were drafted in to the Brazil line-up, as Ederson Alex Sandro and Firmino fell to the bench.

Selecao, who hadn't lost to Venezuela within their last eight meetings, had the upper hand in the first stages as Richarlison and Eder Militao went close to scoring in the opening quarter-hour.

The defending champions didn't need to wait too much time for the opening goal as Richarlison's flick-on from Neymar's corner found Marquinhos, who bundled the ball home from close range.

Venezuela, meanwhile, had to wait before 39th minute for his or her first meaningful opening at goal after Fernando Aristeguieta got on the finish of Jose Martinez's cross but Alisson was readily available to help make the save.

Brazil coach Tite chosen a double change at the start of the second half, with Sandro and Everton Ribeiro replacing Lodi and Paqueta.

The hosts continued threatening and were awarded a penalty on the hour mark when Yohan Cumana brought down Danilo in the box, which allowed Neymar to convert from the location.

While Venezuela struggled to carve out chances, Brazil almost added a third goal on 81 minutes as Neymar sent a curling effort in to the side-netting.

The third goal did arrive on 89 minutes as Neymar turned provider, pulling the ball back for Gabriel Barbosa who made no mistake from close range to summary the win.
