Nissan to Downsize Korean Business Amid Boycott
01 October, 2019
Nissan plans to restructure its business in Korea as sales are hit hard by a boycott of Japanese products.
Nissan Korea on Monday said the company is facing a tough situation and needs to reorganize its operations.
"We are considering various measures from downsizing our sales network to layoffs," a company spokesperson said.
The automaker is considering accepting applications for early retirement from 60 employees. It will also close down some of its 20 dealerships and 17 service centers but denies that it will pull out of the Korean market altogether.
