North Korea demands stricter anti-epidemic measures
North Korea needed more strict and thorough countermeasures to guarantee the safety of its citizens from the fast spreading coronavirus pandemic in a political bureau getting together with of the ruling party's central committee, which was presided over by its head Kim Jong Un, state media reported on Sunday (Apr 12).

The Korean Central Information Agency said the widespread virus has generated obstacles to the country's effort in its economic construction, though added the united states "has been maintaining (a) very steady anti-epidemic situation" because of its "strict top-class emergency anti-epidemic measures ... consistency and compulsoriness in the nationwide precautionary measures."

In a gathering of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Get together of Korea on Saturday, a joint image resolution was adopted to take "extra thorough state actions for safeguarding life and safe practices of (its) persons from the fantastic worldwide epidemic disease."

In addition, it included goals of "continuously intensifying the nationwide emergency anti-epidemic services and pushing ahead with the financial building, increasing national defence capability and stabilising the people's livelihood this season," KCNA said.

The report also said Kim Yo Jong, Kim Jong Un's sister and senior government official, was elected as another person in the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the ruling party.

Meanwhile, another KCNA report said on Sunday that Kim Jong Un oversaw a drill of its pursuit assault aircraft.

Kim expressed great pleasure with the drill but raised "important responsibilities for further improving the combat performance," the report said.
