North Korea says army 'fully ready' to use it over propaganda leaflets

North Korea's army is preparing to take action if defector groups drive ahead with their plan to send propaganda leaflets into North Korea, point out media said on Tuesday (Jun 16), on the latest warning of retaliatory procedures.
The General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) said it has been studying an "action plan" to re-enter zones that had been demilitarised under an inter-Korean pact and "turn leading line into a fortress".
"Our army will rapidly and thoroughly implement any decisions and orders of the Get together and federal government," the KPA said found in a statement carried by the state KCNA news agency.
Tensions have risen while Pyongyang threatened to sever inter-Korean ties and take retaliatory measures above the leaflets, which carry text messages critical of North Korean head Kim Jong Un including man rights abuses.
Seoul's defence ministry called for Pyongyang to abide by the 2018 agreement, where both sides' militaries vowed to cease "all hostile works" and dismantled numerous structures along the heavily fortified Demilitarized Area between your two countries.
"We're taking the problem seriously," ministry spokeswoman Choi Hyun-soo told a briefing. "Our military is maintaining readiness position in order to react to any situation."

But the groups declare they intend to force ahead with their planned campaign this week.
South Korea's President Moon Jae-in urged Pyongyang on Monday to keep peace agreements reached by both leaders and return to dialogue.
