European champion Chelsea have confirmed their next first team departure, with Olivier Giroud securing a move to Serie A giants AC Milan.
French striker Olivier Giroud has completed a permanent move to the San Siro after spending four years at Stamford Bridge.
Giroud becomes Milan's fourth signing for the new season and the second arrival from the Blues after they made Fikayo Tomori's loan move permanent.
"AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Olivier Jonathan Giroud on a permanent transfer from Chelsea FC. The French striker will be wearing the number 9 jersey."
The 2018 World Cup said his goodbyes to the Chelsea faithful on social media after he arrived in Milan on Friday.
"To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments," he said on Twitter.
"I'm starting a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in Fa Cup, Europa League and Champions league have been magnificent. Love Oli G."
