Once A Nightmare For Bowlers, The Matara Mauler Sanath Jayasuriya Is Now Unable To Walk...
Sanath Jayasuriya easily goers down in history as one of the most hard-hitting batsmen the world has ever seen.
The way he smashed bowling attacks to all parts and made them dance to his tune, it seemed ridiculously easy. However, the Matara Mauler looks a shadow of his former self now. In fact the man cannot even walk without using crutches.
The 48-year-old is suffering from an injury which he has had for quite sometime now. Reports say that he will be travelling to Melbourne for treatment.
He played 110 Tests, 445 ODIs and 31 T20Is in his illustrious career and was more than handy with the ball too. With over 20,000 international runs, his legacy is one which the Lankan players look up to. He served as the inspiration for the likes of Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara who went on to carve out successful careers across all formats. Here's wishing him all the best and one hopes he is up and about soon.
