Pakistan invites more investments from Sri Lanka
Massive investments in Pakistan are expected through the Pakistan-China corridor that will increase Pakistan's annual growth to 7 per cent during the next two years.
This will provide a wonderful opportunity for Sri Lankan businessmen to make use of this facility, said the Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat when he addressed the Sri Lankan and Pakistani business delegations at the 3rd Pakistan Single Country Exhibition held in Colombo at the BMICH today (Friday).
The exhibition was declared opened by the Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena along with Pakistan Minister for Commerce Mohammad Pervaiz Malik and the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat. The Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen was present on the occasion.
Pakistan High Commissioner Dr. Hashmat said, "Two years ago we launched the Pakistan Single Country Exhibition. We are determined to make this an annual feature in Sri Lanka to promote bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Sri Lankan business houses will have a unique opportunity to meet Pakistani business houses in Colombo”.
He said the aim of the exhibition was to promote Pakistani, Sri Lanka business interests. "I would like to invite Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in goods and services in Pakistan. We are a country of over 200 million people that imports US$15 billion worth of goods annually," he said.
