PSG Held Meeting For Mbappe & Tuchel After Latest Spat
04 February, 2020
After superstar Kylian Mbappe was left fuming at Thomas Tuchel's decision to substitute him on the weekend, Paris Saint-Germain reportedly ordered a meeting between the striker and his manager.
Despite the French giants beating Montpellier 5-0 at the time of his substitution on Saturday, the 21-year-old did not hide his frustration at being taken off in the 68th minute by Tuchel.
Mbappe appeared to want to ignore his manager as he walked off the field, before the German tactician grabbed him to engage in a conversation, seemingly to calm him down and explain why he took him off. Uninterested, the striker shrugged Tuchel off, before taking his seat on the bench.
According to Le Parisien, the club ordered that Tuchel and Mbappe meet to clear the air over the disagreement, which led to the former Borussia Dortmund manager calling him out publicly after the incident.
The 46-year-old openly admitted in a post-match press conference that he did not like the way Mbappe handled himself as it paints an ugly picture of what is going on behind the scenes at the club.
The forward did manage to get on the scoresheet in PSG's drubbing of Montpellier, scoring the fourth goal of the match, and his 22nd of the season.
This is not the first time Mbappe has made his disappointment known in such fashion, and the player reportedly feels he is often taken off too early in matches.
The forward has been linked with Liverpool and Real Madrid in recent months, and admitted in a recent interview that "anything can happen" come the end of the campaign.
