Rami Malek next Bond villain?
He's the star of a blockbuster film and bagged an Best Actor Oscar for it, and now Rami Malek is the prime candidate to play a Bond villain opposite Daniel Craig in the forthcoming 007 film, which has a working title of Shatterhand.

Malek was reportedly in talks with Bond producers before Sunday's awards, but when it seemed like he would be filming the final season of hacking drama 'Mr Robot' when Shatterhand would be in production, they took the role to other actors. They are, however, determined to cast Malek, even shifting schedules to try and make him the latest Bond baddie.

"Insiders say while meetings with other talent have taken place, producers never wavered on trying to land the role for Malek and have worked hard for months to accommodate both shoots," Variety reports. The villain role is one of four main parts that are currently vacant on the Shatterhand cast list.

The others are a female MI6 agent; another female secondary character, not unlike that of Camille, the Bolivian secret agent played by Olga Kurylenko in Quantum of Solace. Finally, producers are in talks with Billy Magnussen for the role of an American CIA agent.
