Red Sea tourism job awards contracts to build hotel and villa infrastructure

Red Sea Development Firm, the developer of the mammoth tourism task on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, explained it awarded contracts to total structural work for a luxury hotel and villas.
Saudi Arabian contractor Al Bawani will conduct civil and structural works across 40 hotel villas about the Southern Dunes web page while Swiss timber consultant Blumer Lehmann will carry out planning, construction and fabrication works for a hotel on the subject of Ummahat Al Shaykh Island, the developer said on a statement about Wednesday.
The company didn't disclose the value of the contracts.
The contract awards "signify the start of a fresh phase" for the mega tourism project since it advances into hotel development, John Pagano, leader of the Crimson Sea Development Enterprise, said.
“The Red Sea Production Company has made significant progress regarding the look and construction of key infrastructure to permit the expansion of hotel assets,” he added.
The project is an integral tenet of Saudi Arabia's tourism strategy, which aims to improve the contribution of tourism to a lot more than 10 % of the kingdom’s GDP by 2030, up from 3 per cent in 2020.
The Red Sea Production Company’s masterplan covers a 28,000 square kilometre site containing 90 islands. Established to welcome its earliest tourists in 2022, the task is likely to be completed by 2030. It will house 50 resorts containing 8,000 bedrooms, an extravagance marina, entertainment and leisure establishments.
The business, which is owned by the kingdom’s Public Investment Fund, is developing 16 hotels with 3,000 rooms across five islands and two inland sites as part of the first phase that'll be delivered by 2023. This stage will cost around 28 billion Saudi riyals to 29bn riyals ($7.46bn-$7.73bn) to develop.
Al Bawani's work will help the programmer to link villas, eating places and central buildings within its vacation resort, the company said.
Blumer Lehmann will design and produce all engineered timber materials for a resort, overwater and beach villas, spa and fitness setting up, restaurants and a great arrival building.
The company said this past year it had awarded contracts worth 7.5bn riyals to date.
Last month, the Reddish colored Sea Development Company chose Dublin-established DAA International to use the project's airport terminal. It awarded the airport terminal design deal to UK-based architecture organization Foster + Partners in October 2019.
The project has been built under a “regenerative tourism” model, which aims not merely to safeguard local habitats, but also create conditions for local environments to thrive. Simply 22 of the site's 90 islands will be constructed on and visitor numbers to the area will become capped at one million a year.
