Revealed: The airline with the MOST delayed flights in the UK
Flight delays, that is any that face delays of three hours or more, can ruin any holidaymakers trip abroad.

Which?’s newest study analysed all flights to and from the UK between June 2017 and June 2018 to reveal the airlines that suffer from the most flight delays.

In the year period, more than 13,000 were found to be delayed three hours or more, according to data from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) equating to 3,500 passengers per day.

The worst airlines may not come as a shock to some British travellers.

In regards to the most delayed flights, EasyJet came out with 2,618 flights delayed over three hours.

This was closely followed by Ryanair with 1,868 flights, as the low-cost airline struggled with ATC shortages and flight strikes.

British Airways were close behind with 1,668 delayed flights in a year.

However, the study also explained that while these numbers were high, this is because of the number of flights that they offer as some of the largest airlines in the UK.

In regards to the highest percentage of flights delayed, two different airlines were found to be the worst offenders.

Norwegian, who frequently fly between the UK and the US as a budget transatlantic carrier, was the worst for long-haul delays.

The airline suffered from 2.4 per cent of flights delayed more than three hours.

Other long-haul carriers that suffered were Thomas Cook (1.8 per cent) and Tui (1.6 per cent).

Icelandair was found to be the worst for short-haul flights, suffering from 1.7 per cent of flights badly delayed.

Which? managing director of home products and services Alex Neill said: “Severe delays can be a complete nightmare and totally wreck a long-awaited trip abroad, especially if it means you’re stuck in an airport terminal for hours on end.
