Samsung Galaxy Note 10 to feature breakthrough camera technology
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will launch on August 7, 2019, and with it, we will see some pretty interesting features. Although most of the specifications have already been laid bare, there are still a few surprises that are seeping through the woodwork. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will come in two sizes with the smaller one featuring three rear cameras while the larger model will ship with an extra sensor on the back. Now, a report claims that the Galaxy Note 10 will come with a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor on the rear and this news is brought to you by the same tipsters who spoke about the exact same upgrade a few weeks prior.

In May, ETNews said Samsung has been securing ToF lens suppliers for its upcoming flagship, a camera technology that can offer a variety of features that make use of depth information, from portrait modes to 3D facial recognition to augmented reality (AR).

Samsung is no stranger to using ToF sensors as this is already used in the Galaxy S10 5G, which has some of the best cameras available on a smartphone. The source also reveals that a second supplier is building a new plant in Vietnam just like MCNEX. KOLEN’s facility would cost USD 21.6 million with construction said to be completed by the end of July with production to begin in August.

This new plant is believed to be able to manufacture 12 million lenses per month which is almost double KOLEN’s capacity. ETNews says the reason why KOLEN invested in its new facility is because of its partnerships with Samsung which manufacturers over half of the smartphones in the country.

A representative states the company plans to produce “lenses through our new plant in Vietnam according to Samsung Electronics’ plan to expand the application of ToF lenses for its smartphones.”

Samsung isn’t the only smartphone manufacturer to be adding ToF lenses in its smartphones, a fair number of brands will be using it in their upcoming flagships.
