18 August, 2018
Samsung on Wednesday launched its new flagship Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in China with a massive media event in Shanghai.
Koh Dong-jin, the head of Samsung's mobile division, introduced the phone to about 300 guests. "To regain trust, we're trying to meet demand from Chinese consumers to supply them with what they want, from design to sales," he said.

The new phone allows Chinese users to enjoy some 40 popular local games as well as China's largest social media service WeChat conveniently and fast, he added.
The phone will be available in China from Aug. 31.
Samsung ranked first in the Chinese market until 2014 but has since fallen behind the country’s own "big four" of Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO, who now have a firm grip on the market with similar features at lower price tags.
In the second quarter this year, Samsung came at poor 12th in China with a market share hovering at a paltry 0.8 percent.
