Samsung W2019 flip phone launched with dual AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 845
Samsung has launched its ultra-premium W2019 flip phone in China, which is a follow-up to last year’s W2018, launched in December last year. The biggest USP of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 845 chipset and two AMOLED displays and flip form factor, among other things. In comparison with the W2018 flip phone, the newly launched smartphone offers a better chipset, cameras and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Though the device will only be available in Asia, similar to Samsung’s previous flagship flip phones.

The device features two Super AMOLED displays — the external one sports a 4.2-inch panel with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. When you flip open the device, you will witness the second 4.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display along with a directional pad and a numeric keypad. The device is powered a Snapdragon 845 SoC aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD cards. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Samsung’s own UI on top of it.

On the photography front, the handset offers an identical camera setup that we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S9+. The device features a dual rear camera setup, including a 12MP camera with f/1.5 to f/2.4 dual aperture and a 12MP telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom. For selfies, there is an 8MP f/2.0 camera sensor.

The smartphone is fuelled by a 3070mAh. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C connector. There is also a dedicated Bixby button for accessing Bixby AI assistant. As of now, the company hasn't officially revealed the pricing details, but a few reports suggest that the device would be priced around 10,000 Yuan ($1,439). It will be available in Silver and Gold colour options.
