Seven decades of Inner Mongolia: China’s development through our eyes
08 August, 2019
Established in 1947, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China's first province-level autonomous region, accounts for 12 percent of the country's total land area. It is two years older than the People’s Republic of China, and it has seen the path China has taken to lead its people to prosperity over the past seven decades. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China, we’ve interviewed seven people living in Inner Mongolia, aged between 13 and 77.
They are teachers, doctors, artists, tree planters, officials, they are grandfathers, mothers, husbands and daughters. Each of them represents a decade, and each of them has a unique story to tell. Please follow them to travel through time, to experience seven decades of stories from Inner Mongolia.
