Singapore central bank to change banks' capital requirements

Singapore's central bank might modify selected regulatory requirements and supervisory applications to permit financial institutions to give attention to tackling concerns stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, it said on Tuesday (Apr 7).
The Monetary Authority of Singapore said it could adjust banks' capital and liquidity requirements to greatly help sustain lending activities and invite finance institutions to weigh banks' relief measures in setting more realistic accounting mortgage loan loss allowances, among other steps.
