Skip Apple iPhone 11! This smartphone will come with cutting-edge tech
The 2019 iPhone 11 is shaping up to be a handset that’s worth every penny and even though it is an incremental upgrade over the iPhone XS and XS Max, it will still be a worthy upgrade if Apple has anything to say about it. However, for those still not convinced that the 2019 iPhone is a must-have, then this new report about the 2020 iPhones will have you wanting it to launch as soon as possible.

As per a research note obtained by MacRumors, reputed Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that all three of the 2020 iPhones will feature 5G connectivity. Earlier, Kuo had said that Apple planned to add this feature to only its high-end iPhones; however, that’s all changed now that Apple has acquired the 5G smartphone modem business from Intel.

Kuo states that all three 2020 iPhones will feature 5G with mmWave and sub-6GHz spectrum. The mmWave enables cutting-edge 5G speeds but will just cover a shorter distance. The latter will be faster than 4G but has a drop in speed to encompass wider areas; which is a primary factor for rural and suburban areas. To put this into perspective, Android smartphones with 5G capabilities only support sub-6GHz 5G.

Kuo also claims that Apple is testing the sub-6GHz 5G iPhone at a lesser price point but states that it remains uncertain whether the brand has the resources to develop four new iPhones at the same time.

As per a related report by Forbes, “Interestingly, despite Apple’s modem acquisition (and Intel’s willingness to divulge the product roadmaps), Apple is still expected to make use of its April deal with Qualcomm to supply 5G modems in 2020. This is because Apple will not yet have the scale to cater for its own demand next year but, quite brilliantly, it is the Qualcomm deal which facilitated the Intel sale and now Apple has autonomy long term. This is exactly the kind of supply chain mastery Tim Cook specialises in.”

If this isn’t enough impetus to wait for the 2020 iPhones then you will be pleased to know that Apple will be completely revamping the and resizing the handsets in comparison to the 2019 iPhone. Apart from this, Apple will also be upgrading the display and use a camera underneath it for selfies. Reports also suggest that Apple will be bringing back Touch ID but in an all-new avatar. The 2020 iPhones are expected to come with full-screen under-display Touch ID and that’s different from what its Android rivals are using nowadays.
