State Council offers guidance over future consumption

The State Council has issued a guidance to further stimulate and improve the mechanism of resident consumption, The Paper reported.
The guidance puts forward that the country should adapt to the diverse consumption needs of residents, and cultivate the high-end consumer market while ensuring an affordable and safe basic market as well.
In terms of upgrading the consumption of food, clothing and commodities, the guidance suggests that the country should vigorously develop community businesses such as convenience stores and community food stores, as well as encourage the construction of comprehensive service centers for community life.
While in the area of information consumption, the country should upgrade intelligent, high-end and integrated information products, and focus on developing new products including high-end mobile communication terminals, wearable devices, ultra-high-definition video terminals, smart home products and virtual reality and augmented reality products, as well as smart cars and service robots.
