Student, employee accused of hacking into school's computer
Authorities say a 27-year-old Ph.D. student and a 32-year-old communications specialist at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University are accused of hacking into the school's computer system.

WFTV reports that Kevin Scott and Jeanette Barott hacked the system to see information they weren't supposed to see. They were arrested Thursday and charged with damaging a computer system.

A police report says the information technology department at the Daytona Beach school noticed an unauthorized access earlier this month and notified the FBI and the Daytona Beach police.

Officials said Scott told investigators he had accessed the school's servers for two or three years but had no intent to cause harm. Investigators said Barott know of Scott's behavior and didn't report it.

Both were released on $10,000 bonds. Jail records don't list lawyers for them.
