Suarez On His Marriage With Messi Since Leaving Barca
17 November, 2020
Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has revealed what his romance with Lionel Messi has been like since he was forced out of FC Barcelona in the newest transfer window.
The 33-year-old has made an excellent start to lifestyle at Los Rojiblancos since his arrival in September, having scored five goals and assisted one strike in nine matches.
Suarez was not pleased with just how Barcelona handled his transfer, though, especially following the Uruguayan played an intrinsic role in the medial side over the past six years, with even Ronald Koeman admitting it had been the board's decision to market him.
In a recently available interview, the former Liverpool forward revealed that he's still in frequent communication with Messi - who was reportedly furious with the Blaugrana after Suarez was sold - but claimed they do not spend a lot of time discussing football.
"The truth is that we speak a whole lot, but, honestly, we talk about our existence," the Atletico attacker told Marca.
"It had been recently the birthday of one of my children, as well his. We discussed lifestyle, the virus, everything, but hardly any about football, about the goals we miss or around tactical systems.
"We worry extra about how exactly the family is than about what happens in football.
"I was sad and harm incidentally I left - I already said it. However when they close a door, five more accessible to you where they value my work, professionalism and trajectory. I feel proud.
"Where they didn't want me, there was another that sought me. I found contentment and I'm enjoying this moment now."
Suarez scored 195 goals and assisted a further 113 strikes in 283 matches for the Blaugrana.
