Surat To Get 1 Of 7 Mega Textile Parks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced that “PM MITRA mega textile parks” will be set up in the seven states of the country including Gujarat, asserting that they will attract massive investments and create lakhs of jobs. The seven states include Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
In Gujarat, the plant will be set up near Surat in Navsari around the Vasi-Borsi area in a space of 1000 acre. The land for the mega project has already been identified and necessary budgetary provisions have also been made. Approximately, a total of 150 businesses are likely to be set up with a total investment of Rs 25000 crore.

This will boost the textile market of the region and will strengthen our space in the global market.” In a tweet Modi said, “The PM MITRA mega textile parks will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for the textiles sector, attract investment of crores and create lakhs of jobs. It will be a great example of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make For the World’.”He further said, “PM MITRA mega textile parks will boost the textiles sector in line with 5F (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) vision.”
