Taiwan boosts domestic security development plan with fresh jet

Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen oversaw the 1st public test air travel of a new locally designed and manufactured advanced jet trainer on Mon, part of her government's plan to boost defenses when confronted with an evergrowing challenge from China.
Taiwan's military are usually equipped by america, but Tsai has made development of a sophisticated home-grown defense industry important, especially seeing as China, which promises the island due to its, steps up armed service modernization efforts.
The new AT-5 Brave Eagle, made by state-owned Aerospace Industrial Development Corp with a budget of T$68.6 billion ($2.32 billion), may be the 1st jet made domestically since the F-CK-1 Ching-kuo fighter, rolled out a lot more than three decades ago.
Speaking at an air foundation in the central city of Taichung, Tsai explained the new aircraft disproved naysayers who have thought Taiwan lacked the technology and should give attention to meeting its defense needs from abroad.
