Thailand confirms 576 new COVID-19 infections

Thailand confirmed 576 new COVID-19 infections on Sunday (Dec 20), including 516 migrant worker cases announced your day before, according to a health ministry statement.
The brand new cases include 19 locally transmitted cases in Bangkok and in the southwestern province of Samut Sakhon, where in fact the 516 inflections were also found. Every one of them were linked to a shrimp market in Samut Sakhon, the statement said.
There were also 41 imported cases.
The majority of the migrant personnel in Samut Sakhon are from Myanmar, which includes suffered a far worse outbreak of COVID-19 than Thailand, where health authorities credit early action with limiting the spread of the coronavirus.
Samut Sakhon Governor Wirasak Wichitsaengsi said the amount of infections was more than expected "rendering it necessary to raise control measures to quickly stop the rapid spread of the epidemic."
