Those with pets will concur that sometimes, shopping for your dog can be difficult, with so many toys and snacks available to buy, it is usually hard to determine the best option.
That's where Hunter Finn, a co-employee veterinarian from Texas, will come in.
In the last little while, he’s gone viral on TikTok, posting a number of videos created for owners that help answer common questions.
His first video, aimed at dog owners, has recently had 4.3 million views since being uploaded on September 3.
In the short clip, he shares three tips about what to consider while buying dog treats.
“Absolutely never purchase raw hides with these twice layered ends. These are absolute choking / medical hazards,” he warns. He likewise suggests seeking for treats that have dental benefits plus a Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) stamp on the packaging (this is relevant for cat treats also).
Also, Finn says that if a toy bone is too hard to slap against your knee, it’ll be too much for your pet to chew so it is better to avoid that aswell.
In the second video in the series, he focuses even more on what pet snack foods should be avoided.
He advises against natural and cooked bones and hooves, saying they are too tough and can wear or breakdown a dog’s teeth as time passes while potentially triggering gastrointestinal problems aswell. He as well mentions that rope toys, while overall safe should be supervised, because if shredded it is usually easily ingested to probably cause life-threatening issues.
However, advice video clips aren't the only thing that Finn sets on TikTok. He likewise creates comedy content along with other videos targeted at helping owners (even if this means giving tips while dancing).
The 27-year-old currently has 982,000 followers on the platform and says he'll continue doing videos especially for pet owners provided that they think it is useful.
