The censored line used in Cillian Murphy's speech at the 2024 Golden Globes revealed
Sunday evening saw the 81st edition of the Golden Globes held in the United States.

Barbie and Oppenheimer competed for the main awards in what was to be the prelude to the Oscars - and there is no doubt that the latter was the winner of the night.

Oppenheimer won Best Drama, Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Score (Ludwig Göransson), Best Director (Christopher Nolan) and Best Actor in a Leading Role, which went to the acclaimed Cillian Murphy. The actor, who plays the creator of the atomic bomb in the movie, took the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles to collect his award and deliver the traditional winner's speech.

However, this one had one small peculiar detail, and that is that it managed to slip through the censorship filter established by the broadcaster.

"I'm the luckiest f***ing man alive," he said. The phrase was removed from Murphy's speech once the ceremony was no longer aired live.

Dedication to the director and his colleagues
The actor also wanted to praise the importance and role of the director, Christopher Nolan, describing the British director as the 'master'.

"The first time I stepped on a Nolan set, I knew it was different," he said.

"I could tell by the level of rigor, the level of focus, the level of dedication and the total lack of seating options for the actors, that I was in the hands of a visionary director, a master."

Finally, Murphy wanted to show his appreciation to his castmates after the movie helped him land his first Golden Globe.

"One of the most beautiful and vulnerable things about being an actor is that you can't do it alone," he added.

"We had the most incredible cast in this movie. It was magical, some of them are here today. Thank you for carrying me and sustaining me on this film."
