Thousands More Koreans Become Stock Billionaires
Some 43,800 Koreans owned more than W1 billion worth of stocks this past year, up from just 25,200 in the entire year before, the Korea Securities Depository said Sunday (US$1=W1,121).

That makes up about 0.48 percent of most stockholders in the united states, up from 0.41 percent in 2019.

A stock market boom this past year sent the quantity of retail investors soaring from 6.14 million to 9.14 million over the same period.

The full total value of stock billionaires' shares reached W326.8 trillion, taking on 49.4 percent of total stocks held by retail investors.

That means the most notable 0.5 percent of stockholders account for half the full total stock value.

Some 2,800 persons or 0.03 percent of most stockholders own more than W10 billion worth of stocks, up from 2,200 in 2019.
