Britain will in a few days apply to join a trans-Pacific free of charge trade pact between 11 countries with negotiations place to start later this season, the UK federal government said on Saturday.

UK Trade Minister Lizz Truss will talk with counterparts in Japan and New Zealand on Mon and get the formal demand to join the In depth and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Since leaving europe, Britain has made clear its desire to become listed on CPTPP, which removes virtually all tariffs between Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

"One year after our departure from the EU we will be forging new partnerships that may bring enormous monetary benefits for the people of Britain," Prime Minister Boris Johnson explained in a statement.

Reuters reported on Thursday that Britain won't publish a great assessment of the monetary benefits associated with CPTPP membership before requesting to become listed on it - unlike earlier promises.

Previous government monetary analyses of Brexit have pointed to little boosts to economic output from more trade deals.

The federal government said joining CPTPP would remove tariffs on drink and food and cars while assisting to raise the technology and services sectors.

"Deciding on be the first brand-new country to become listed on the CPTPP demonstrates our ambition to do business on the very best terms with this friends and partners everywhere, and to be a keen champion of global no cost trade," Mr Johnson stated.
