US 'deeply concerned' about Hong Kong activists held in China: Pompeo

US Secretary of Talk about Mike Pompeo said on Friday (Sep 11) america is deeply worried about 12 Hong Kong democracy activists getting placed in China's Guangdong province, saying they have already been denied gain access to to lawyers and native authorities possess not provided information on their welfare or the expenses against them.
AMERICA questions the Hong Kong leadership's commitments to protecting citizens' rights, Pompeo said in a statement. The activists had been arrested about fourteen days ago off the coast of Hong Kong, based on the statement.
Towards the end of August the provincial Coast Guard Bureau explained in a content on its social mass media web page that it had arrested at least 10 persons after intercepting a boat off the price tag on the southern province of Guangdong. Hong Kong press, citing unidentified options, said the 12 had been headed to Taiwan to use for political asylum.
Hong Kong LEADER Carrie Lam said previous this week that if they "were arrested for breaching mainland offences they have to come to be handled based on the mainland laws."
"We question LEADER Lam's stated determination to protecting the rights of Hong Kong people, and ask authorities to ensure due method," Pompeo said.
