US warns China more than progresses Philippines, Taiwan
The United States on Wednesday (Apr 7) warned China against what the Philippines and Taiwan see as increasingly aggressive techniques, reminding Beijing of Washington's obligations to its partners.

"An armed attack against the Philippines' military, public vessels or perhaps aircraft in the Pacific, incorporating in the South China Ocean, will trigger our obligations beneath the US-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty," STATE DEPT. spokesman Ned Selling price told reporters.

"We share the worries of our Philippine allies regarding the continuing reported massing of PRC maritime militia near to the Whitsun Reef," Price said, discussing the People's Republic of China.

A lot more than 200 Chinese boats were primary spotted on Mar 7 at Whitsun Reef, around 320 kilometres west of Palawan Island found in the contested Southern China Sea, although some have since scattered over the Spratly Islands.

He was using language from the Taiwan Relations Work, under which the United States is obliged to supply the island with the methods to defend itself against Beijing.

President Joe Biden features vowed a robust defence of allies and, in a rare point of continuity along with his predecessor Donald Trump, offers supported strong pushback against Chinese assertiveness.
