Vietnam says wanting to manufacture COVID-19 vaccines to provide COVAX initiative

Vietnam is wanting to buy COVID-19 vaccine development technology and wants to build a good plant to provide the COVAX programme, its wellbeing ministry said on Tuesday (Jun 1), seeing as the united states tries to intensify vaccinations to stem a fresh outbreak of infections.

"Vietnam would build the plant and wish to receive the patent so that it could source vaccines to COVAX, to other countries as well concerning Vietnam," the ministry said in a statement, carrying out a meeting with COVAX representatives overnight.
Vietnam on Mon also pushed for individual procurement of vaccines, since it races to secure products and tackle an outbreak that has seen its conditions more than double during the past month.
