Vini Stunner Helps Real Madrid Move Level With Barca

Real Madrid moved level on points with LALIGA leaders FC Barcelona with a 2-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday evening.

Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti made two changes from the loss to LOSC Lille, as Kylian Mbappe replaces Luka Modric while Aurelien Tchouameni dropped into the defence to replace the injured Eder Militao.
Real Madrid beat Villarreal 2-0 to move level on points with Barcelona. Valverde scored early, and Vinicius added a second before being subbed off due to a shoulder injury late in the game.
The visitors looked lively in the early stages, but it was Los Blancos who broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Federico Valverde unleashed a strike from distance that took a deflection and sailed into the far corner.
The Yellow Submarine remained lively on the counter despite going behind, but they were finding it tough to silence Vinicius Junior down the left flank,with the Brazilian getting a lot of joy against Kiko Feminia. That proved to be the trend for the remainder of the first half, as Villarreal failed to trouble Los Blancos goalkeeper Andry Lunin between the sticks while the hosts were unable to carve out another serious chance.
The visitors did go close to pulling level ten minutes after the break, as Álex Baena unleashed a free-kick from around 25 yards that sailed just wide of the upright and into the side-netting.
However, it was the home side who got the next goal as Vinicius got his name on the scoresheet in the 72nd minute with a superb strike from distance that sailed into the top corner.
That proved to be Vinicius' final involvement as he was withdrawn in the final ten minutes with an apparent shoulder injury, with Arda Guler brought on as his replacement to see out the rest of the game.
