Vitamin D Supplements
27 January, 2018
Since implementation of the 2014 Health Reform Plan, around 2,500 health houses in rural areas across the country have been renovated and reconstructed. The centers provide basic health services.
“As children need Vitamin D for bone growth and development, we plan to provide free Vitamin D supplements to all children under the age of 2. During our latest round of health screenings we realized that Vitamin D deficiency had increased six-fold over the last decade,” said Health Minister Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, IRNA reported.
For children between 2 and 12 years, one tablet is given every two months. People can receive the supplements from the health centers and health houses.
