Volkswagen, Audi Ordered to Compensate Duped Customers

The Seoul Central District Court on Thursday ruled that Volkswagen and Audi must compensate customers who bought cars subject to the emissions-rigging scandal with 10 percent of the price they paid.
The compensation for the 79 owners who sued the carmakers will range from W1.56 million to W53.8 million (US$1=W1,182).
Volkswagen came under fire after it was discovered in the U.S. in 2015 that the carmaker rigged the emission results of diesel cars with illegal software.
Thousands of Korean consumers have since sued the company in class-action lawsuits.
