01 January, 2019
The phone call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump on Dec 29 has sent a positive signal for the resolution of Sino-US trade war, said Xinhua news agency in a commentary.
Both said the consultation between the two sides is making “positive” progress, and both hoped to reach an agreement that is “beneficial” for both parties and the rest of the world. Consensus on these issues is hard to reach and of great value, Xinhua added.
Meanwhile, the two heads of state simultaneously described the current Sino-US relationship as an “important” issue.
The call reflects that coordination and cooperation are becoming the common aspiration of both China and the US. The two countries seek to promote an overall stable bilateral relationship.
Xinhua News Agency is the official state-run press agency and also the biggest and most influential media organization in China.
