Xi’an to ban home sales that include school admission
20 September, 2018
Xi’an, a large city in central China, has forbidden real estate developers from linking home sales to school admission, The Paper reported.
According to the new rule co-released by the municipal Housing Administration, Education Bureau, as well as the Administration for Industry and Commerce, developers do not have the right to promise home buyers school admission for their children.
The new policy states that all housing advertisements must not contain a commitment to help purchasers access to any school.
Also, developers are not allowed to stipulate in the sales contract or other supplementary agreements that the commercial house sold corresponds to any school district or school. If there is a relationship, the sale should be stopped immediately.
