Yami remembers an accident that left her with a long lasting injury
Through all of this past year, even though many actors found their own way to be the fittest version of themselves, actress Yami Gautam took to practising yoga, a sort of fitness that she had struggled with in the past. The reason? It's a major accident that goes back to her college times, which triggered a neck injury that's been part of her existence since. In August 2020, she even shared an in depth post about how precisely she were able to overcome the odds. "

This lockdown, I got to explore something I couldn't before! Each time I would try practising Yoga, I would be left extra in pain due to my condition, therefore my experience never encouraged me to keep but this time around, I self-tutored my method through and allowed my own body to heal itself inside out and it spent some time working like nothing you've seen prior! This lockdown was not about 'looking fit' or 'workout of the day' it had been enough time where I listened and merely went with the movement," she wrote.

The Bala actress spoke to Bombay Times about the hit-and-run accident that kept her with this neck injury, which she's rarely ever discussed. Recounting that chapter of her lifestyle, Yami says, "It just happened one morning when I was going to the university in Chandigarh. I was on the road riding my two-wheeler when the car ahead gave the wrong signal.

The driver signalled that she'd be going right, but instead, turned remaining and knocked me down. The car sped apart without stopping. It was very quick and also sudden to register what had happened. I am thankful that I was using my helmet. I was unable to maneuver and could have been run over by another passing vehicle. However, a man pulled over and helped me reunite on my feet."
