You can now spend and earn Etihad air miles in Abu Dhabi malls
Etihad and Aldar Malls have partnered to permit buyers to earn and spend air flow miles in three malls throughout Abu Dhabi.

With travel currently on pause, you might be wondering how to proceed with any Etihad air miles you have that are nearing expiration. Or possibly you're keen to build on your own existing air miles, but can't because of your lack of flying this year.

The national airline of the UAE has partnered with Aldar to let travellers do both of these things at Yas Mall and World Trade Centre Mall in Abu Dhabi, and at Al Ain's Al Jimi Mall.

Members of Etihad's loyalty programme can choose to earn and spend Etihad Guest Miles on any buys above Dh50 made at these three malls, which between them have more than 650 retail brands.

For every Dh3 spent on purchases over Dh50, Etihad customers will earn one Etihad Guest Mile.

Upgrades available
Whether spending or earning, your shopping could help upgrade to another tier of Etihad's membership program.

On transactions above Dh50 paid by a linked Visa card, consumers will earn one Tier Mile per Dh3. This can be a first time that Etihad possesses allowed members to boost their tier position when spending air miles.

“Etihad Guest members can now elevate their Tier Position while shopping around Aldar Malls, even while using their Miles, that is a to begin its kind give, showing our commitment towards our faithful members of these difficult times," explained Yasser Al Yousuf, vice president commercial partnerships in Etihad Aviation Group.

How does it work?
To earn and spend miles, shoppers need to hook up their Visa card to their Etihad Guest cellular app. The app's fresh 'Miles on the Proceed' technology allows members to earn or dedicate miles when swiping their cards in virtually any of the three Aldar malls.

If members have sufficient air miles, they'll get yourself a notification on buys over Dh50 asking if indeed they wish to pay using Etihad Miles.

Transactions above Dh50 where the guest opts to continue paying by Visa cards will automatically come to be credited with the relevant weather miles.

The move was created to support Abu Dhabi and its economy and the emirate's quest to become a leading leisure and tourism hub.

Presently, malls in Abu Dhabi happen to be operating with strict hygiene policies set up including compulsory face masks, and gloves in a few stores.

The emirate includes a travel restriction set up until Tuesday, June 16 that prevents residents from leaving and visitors from entering the capital's borders.
