A lot of 5G Phones going to Market This Year
About 15 new 5G phones will hit the Korean market this season after Korea became the first country tin the world to roll out the superfast service last year.

Samsung launches its new Galaxy S20 series in San Francisco Wednesday, all equipped for 5G.

You will see three models available -- the Galaxy S20 with a 6.2-inch screen, the Galaxy S20 Plus with a 6.7-inch screen, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra with a 6.9-inch screen -- but only the Galaxy S20 will be released here. A new foldable handset to be launched in the next half of the year may also be a 5G phone.

LG will roll out the G9 this year. It already released two 5G phones with a dual-display screen last year, the V50 and the V50S. The new V60, also equipped for 5G, is only going to be sold in the U.S. and Europe.

Apple will launch the first 5G iPhone late this year.

Many of the new 5G phones will be moderately priced. Samsung already released the Galaxy A90 for around W900,000 this past year, the first 5G phone to cost a lower amount than W1 million (US$1=W1,192).

The affordable Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A71, launched in Vietnam this past year, will hit Korean store shelves this season. The Galaxy A51 costs about W400,000 in Vietnam.

LG plans release a the affordable ThinQ series equipped for 5G this season.
