After COVID-19 case, Quantum of the Seas cruise scheduled for Dec 10 to go ahead: Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean International’s Quantum of the Seas is still scheduled to create sail in Thursday (Dec 10), the business said on Wednesday.

Royal Caribbean reported it had been deploying "enhanced sanitation" up to speed the Quantum of the Seas after a passenger tested confident for COVID-19 throughout a cruise to nowhere.

"At the moment, there are no changes to your cruise. On the other hand, we’re focused on keeping you submitted every step of the way," it explained in a notification aware of customers.

An upgrade is expected by 6pm about Wednesday on whether there will be further alterations to the scheduled trip in Thursday, said Royal Caribbean.

The business added that because of the COVID-19 case, passengers who no longer wanted to sail or who wished to reschedule their trip could do so.

“We’re extending the deadline so that you can opt-in to your Cruise confidently programme till Dec 10, 2020,” Royal Caribbean said.

“So, if you opt to not sail around, you might cancel for a 100 % future cruise credit of your cruise fare paid.”

In order to avoid waiting on the telephone, Royal Caribbean said consumers may submit an online form here by Dec 10. Once the demand is definitely received, the reservation will be immediately cancelled and credit will be issued within 30 days, the company added.

One Singaporean who booked the Thursday cruise said he plans to go ahead. 

The director of an advertising firm, who wished to be known as Mr Bhatt, said he and his family intend to maintain safe distancing and avoid crowds through the cruise.

“We trust the Singapore Federal government to take prudent techniques to ensure our safety and so long as it is suggested we will need the cruise tomorrow,” the 40-year-old said.
