AstraZeneca Jabs Limited to Over-30s
The government has decided to resume AstraZeneca vaccinations on Mon but limit them to persons over 30. Which means 640,000 little people who were to end up being inoculated in the next quarter will probably miss out.

But about 135,000 under-30s who've recently been given their initial AstraZeneca jab it's still given the next shot unless they suffered blood vessels clots in a reaction to the first.

Jeong Eun-kyeong, the principle of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, announced the new plan on Sunday.

AstraZeneca vaccinations were suspended previous Thursday following the European Medicines Organization and the U.K. classified rare bloodstream clots just as one side effect.

They resume Mon for teachers and care personnel as well as patients under 60 in care homes.

The government made a decision to resume the jabs for fear that it could not get possible to attain herd immunity simply by November. But vaccines will be in short supply and the plan appears ever more unlikely to succeed as the authorities dragged its heels for too long.

The federal government is negotiating with Janssen and Novavax to secure more supplies and with Pfizer to get delivery forward, but Janssen's vaccine in addition has been associated with a blood coagulum risk because it can be an adenoviral vector vaccine like AstraZeneca.

The daily tally of latest coronavirus infections stood at 587 on Mon morning, below 600 for the first time in six days because of fewer tests over the weekend. Accumulated conditions in Korea reach 110,146 with 1,770 deaths.

Last week, the federal government decided to maintain the current level of public distancing until May 2 with some stricter restrictions to entertainment facilities. On top of that, those who usually do not have on masks indoors will become now slapped with an excellent of W100,000 aswell (US$1=W1,121).
