Barcelona Transfer News: Five Out, Six In?
With Barcelona suffering yet another early exit from Europe, here are five first-team stars linked with moves away from the club and six players Xavi Hernandez reportedly wants to sign.

Significant changes are expected at the Catalan giants ahead of the 2023/24 campaign despite the team's impressive domestic form, which has seen them lose just once in 22 LaLiga matches.

In a season of contrast, the Blaugrana crashed out of the UEFA Champions League and found themselves in the UEFA Europa League for a second consecutive season, only to suffer another premature exit this week.

Barcelona failed to get the better of a resurgent Manchester United over their two-legged last 32 UEL tie, leaving Spanish publications certain that Xavi will look to continue his rebuild in the coming transfer window.

Real Sociedad holding midfielder Martin Zubimendi has been linked with a move to the league leaders, with the 24-year-old considered a potential long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets, whose deal expires in June. The captain is yet to give the club an indication on what his future will look like amid strong rumours he could take his career to Saudi Arabia or the United States.

In recent days, former Barca youth player Takefusa Kubo has emerged as a target, but his €60 million (R1.1 billion) release clause could prove a deterrent.

Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka is also thought to be of interest to the Blaugrana, while discussions over a possible return to the club for Lionel Messi have intensified this week.

The Argentine has a contract at Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, although rumours have suggested the 35-year-old’s dad recently met with Barca president Joan Laporta this month to talk about his son's future.

In terms of more outgoings, midfielder Franck Kessie is reportedly a target for Inter Milan in Serie A, while Ansu Fati has top clubs in England, such as Manchester United and Liverpool, monitoring his situation in Spain.
