Bayern Munich qualified for the fourth round of the DFB Pokal after edging Hoffenheim 4-3 at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night,

Benjamin Hubner scored in his own net for Bayern before a strike from Thomas Muller and a brace Robert Lewandowski put Bayern in control.

Jerome Boateng also scored an own goal to give Hoffenheim some whil substitute Moanes Dabour also scored a brace for the visitors, but Bayern were able to hold on for the win.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 Stuttgart

Bayer Leverkusen progressed to the fourth round after edging second-tier side Stuttgart 2-1 at Bay Arena.

While the first stanza could not produce the goals, Leverkusen eventually broke the deadlock with 19 minutes left thanks to an own goal by Fabian Bredlow before Lucas Alario doubled their lead in the last seven minutes.

Silas Wamangituka gave Stuttgart hope of forcing the game to extra-time after pulling a goal back five minutes before time but the hme side held on in the end to book a spot in the fourth round.

SC Verl 0-1 Union Berlin

Union Berlin were made to sweat for their place in the fourth round after narrowly beating fourth tier side SC Verl 1-0 at SportClub Arena.

After a goalless first stanza, Union snatched the winner in the last five minutes courtesy of Robert Andrich.
