Boar regrets walk on glass bridge in China
03 December, 2018
A video showing a boar having trouble walking on a glass-bottomed bridge in Qingyuan in southern China has gone viral on the Internet.
According to Global Times, the boar ran onto the bridge after guards opened it up for cleaning on Saturday morning (December 1). One of the guards said the boar probably had never seen a glass bridge, which may have frightened it.
The boar can be seen trembling in terror as it slowly tries to slide off the bridge and return to safe ground. With the bridge being covered in dew, it took extra effort by the animal to slide on the slippery surface.
Guards at the bridge tried to help by sweeping away dew in front of the boar as they gently pushed the animal towards the bridge entrance. But the wild pig stopped and peeked over the side every other step along the way.
By the time the boar got to the woods, it was exhausted by its struggle. The guards waited for the boar to recuperate before seeing it off into the woods nearby.
One of the guards said boars were not uncommon due to the location of the bridge, with woods nearby.
The glass bridge in Qingyuan, which is the largest of its kind in the world, opened to the public in June 2018.
